Rhode Island

Troupe Raq-ettes, will represent New Hampshire's upper valley at the first Annual New England Raq Sharqi Competition in Rhode Island. Directed by Amity, the Raq-ettes will perform a show stopping 10 minute choreography. Wish us luck!

Gina Capossela's 6th Annual Middle Eastern and American bellydance showcase was held at the Lebanon Opera House. With almost 600 people in attendance and over 70 performers, the house was packed, and the dancing was fabulous.

Oralia's last MEDGE sponsored show before she moves to Berkeley, CA was upbeat and lively. Oralia's performence included a little bit of classic Egyptian bellydance and a little bit of Modern Egyptian bellydance. A little bit of everything for everyone.

Oralia performed a Saidi (cane) choreography that she learned from Astryd Farah in addition to a choreography that she learned from Randa Kamel on her trip to Cairo last year. The show was a huge success with a packed house and 14 different dancers/troupes. Another fabulous MEDGE show.

We packed the house and danced all night to the music of Ala Nar. Oralia opened the show, followed by Amira Ahzar, and Astryd Farah closed the show. Another fabulous night at Cosmic Pizza.

Oralia presented one of the choreographies she learned in Cairo. The show was fun, and the audience was great. Another awesome evening surrounded by friends, dancers, strangers and of course wine and pizza.

We showcased the legendary Carolena Nericchio of FatChanceBellyDance and Megha Gavin of Devyani Dance troupe, in Tribal:PURA. It was a real treat to perform in a beautiful performance hall and to dance with the creme de la creme of Eugene's belly dancers.

Students of the Astryd Farah deMichele School of Middle Eastern Dance started the show with a couple of choreography's followed by each student dancing to live music by Ala Nar. The show concluded with a performance by the fabulous Astryd Farah herself!

Oralia performed to a great crowd as Decembers featured performer. It was a full night of fabulous performances by local Egyptian, Cabaret, and Tribal style dancers.
