Drum Solo Choreography-listen, interpret, and dance a drum solo




Saturday, March 20th 1-3pm


Intimidated by performing a drum solo? Come learn how to listen to arabic drumming and interperate it as dance while learning a drum solo choreography. Oralia has been studying Middle Eastern dance for over 10 years with the best teachers from Cairo and the West Coast; now she is here to share her experience and love of dance. Come and warm up those cold New England days with accents, articulations, and of course lots of shimmies!


You will learn a unique drum solo choreography that Oralia put together with Amy Luna in Berkeley, California this past summer.

Workshop location: Carter Community Building, 1 Campbell Street
the Old CCBA in Lebanon (the brick building just off of the green)
Cost: $20 pre-register by March 13 ($25 at the door)

This workshop is a fundraiser to help send the upper valley's local troupe --Raq-ette's--to represent New Hampshire bellydancers in the April New England Raq Sharqi Competition in Rhode Island

Oralia shares her depth of experience studying both the technical and emotional roots of Egyptian bellydance. Come learn classical and modern dance moves in an energetic, fun and supportive environment. Learn how to put these moves together and really dance to the music of the Middle East. Also a great way to stay in shape and burn some calories.
